Richard Anuszkiewicz (American, 1930-2020),

“New Glory,” 1975,

Serigraph on paper, 26 x 19 ½ in.

Gift of CVI Art Management and Art for Education

With “New Glory,” Anuszkiewicz displays his distinguished ability to create optically jarring images from simple colors and shapes. These symmetrical and repeating bands of highly contrasting colors seem to vibrate out of the two-dimensional paper. As Anuszkiewicz describes his work, “New Glory” is just one of his many investigations into, “the dynamic effect of the whole under changing conditions of light.”
