Collin displayed great piano talent before his parents encouraged him to pursue art. While studying in Europe, he was influenced by Synchronism — an abstract movement combining sensorial and mathematical phenomena like synesthesia and the Golden Ratio. This naturally led him to Geometric Abstraction when he immigrated to the United States after World War II. His works prominently exhibit vibrant and meticulously rendered kaleidoscopic shapes. Collin remained inspired by music throughout his life and referred to his technique as “symphonic style.”
